The Watches and Jewelry world in support of the Lebanese Cultural Community.
Up to the 24th of November, Christie’s will present We Are All Beirut, a charity auction to benefit and aid the restoration and reawakening of the arts and cultural landscape of Beirut. The proceeds of the auction will be entrusted to The Arab Funds for Arts and Culture (AFAC) to support the arts and culture community in Beirut including the Sursock Museum.
Hemmerle Creations – Earrings
We Are All Beirut will auction works by artists across three spheres: the arts, the world of design and jewellery. All 11 pieces of jewellery carry hints to Lebanon by using the symbolism of the colours of the Lebanese flag or have been made especially for this charity auction. For instance, the green dial of the limited-edition Bulgari watch of which only 11 were made, or the green bezel of the Rolex, ref. 126610LV, which is one of the most sought after of the 2020 releases of Rolex. Piaget donated three bracelets, each representing one colour of the Lebanese flag and the specially made cuff by Nadine Kanso, was inspired by the title of the sale “Kelna Beirut” (We Are All Beirut).

Furthermore, two creations are being unveiled for the first time through this sale, the hand sculpted anodized aluminum and reverse-set purple sapphire earrings by Hemmerlé and Glenn Spiro’s brand-new carved ceramic and tourmaline earrings which glow in the dark. Karma el Khalil, a talented Lebanese jewelry designer based in NYC, whose creations are dubbed by Hollywood stars, is represented with her flagship piece, the Sunshine Ear Cuff. The charity sale offers the latest piece available from this collection, recalling rays of sunrise and radiating hope.

Witnessing such an incredible level of interest and generous contributions to We Are All Beirut, regionally and internationally, depicts a humanity and benevolence that is so very much needed today. We like to take this opportunity to send our deepest thank you to all jewellery designers and maisons as well as watchmakers and retailer for their substantial contributions.”
