Even in austere times, festival days bring in rich dividend for most luxury brands. This is the time when Indians splurge the most. It also marks the end of Shradh, or the month of paying obeisance to the ancestors when most Indians don’t buy anything precious.
The start of the festival season, with the festival of lights round the corner, is the time to celebrate for both, the luxury brands and the people of India. Brands will see a spike in their sales that will extend till the end-of-the year celebrations. As Charu Sachdev, CEO of the Sachdev Group says, “We expect Deepavali to be a fantastic season for us. We’re looking for at least 20% rise in sales.” Across all luxury malls – DLF Emporio in Delhi, UB City in Bangalore and Palladium, Mumbai, sales of luxury brands have already shown a sharp increase.
