Luxury travel company, Ker & Downey® Africa is in the business of creating African experiences for people from around the globe that are nothing short of life changing.
Ker & Downey® Africa focuses on sustainable tourism and believe in purposeful travel experiences that contribute to the conservation of the planet. In celebration of the magnificent African elephant, their 13-day Elephant Safari in South Africa, Victoria Falls and Botswana takes you on a journey to connect with the gentle giants of Africa in three bucket-list destinations in Southern-Africa. This itinerary has been crafted for travelers with a keen interest in learning more about the nature of elephants in their natural habitat, while simultaneously leaving a positive legacy for Africa’s elephants. This 13-day experience pays recognition to elephants in their natural habitat by actively involving travelers in research and conservation tasks and pairing travelers with local wildlife experts and leading elephant conservationists.
The trip starts with an elephant safari in South Africa at Addo National Park and later meeting the Jabulani Herd in the Greater Kruger National Park. The Jabulani Elephant Experience is a conservation-driven program that involves active research, observation and tracking the herd on foot. The journey continues in Victoria Falls in a unique art class with a view of the subject – a herd of elephants at the watering hole!
Last, but not least, its the Okavango Delta for a Botswana elephant safari alongside Living with Elephants Foundation at Sanctuary Baines Camp. The highlight of the safari is having the opportunity to walk alongside elephants – an intimate and educational bush walk led by expert guides who teach about the status of the African elephant, their role in the ecosystem and the importance of elephant conservation.
With the emergence of the Covid-19 virus and responsibility towards Africa and its people, Ker & Downey® Africa is following the guidelines of the World Health Organization and the South African government to restrict the spread of Coronavirus while boost travel and tourism to support the local economy.
